Job Description:

2 full-time permanent vacancies has arisen within our Internal Sales Department. Working: Monday to Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm.

Primary purpose of position

  • To be an integral part of the Sales Coordination and Estimating Team
  • To be responsible for dealing with all day-to-day customer and Glenair external sales team requests for quotation, lead-times and technical enquiries.
  • To provide project management support to the Area Sales Engineers and Product Managers by participating in customer visits and business meetings as required. It is envisaged that customer visit activity will principally be limited to UK project activity.
  • To be able to successfully negotiate profitable pricing levels with customers in order to secure future business. Assistance and guidance may be required from the Sales Office Manager or Team Leader.

Main duties & responsibilities

  • With assistance from the Sales Office Manager and Team Leader you will be expected to identify and develop the necessary skills and business systems that will allow Glenair to achieve its business aims and objectives.
  • To deal with enquiries effectively
  • Price list items for standard or existing product where pricing levels have already been pre-determined and are readily available either in hard copy format or computer based.
  • New Developments where Glenair will be expected to be fully involved with the project management and product design. Quotations for this type of enquiry will typically be presented as a more comprehensive bid proposal.
  • Develop Costing Models and Business Systems
  • Liaison with other Departments
  • All quotations are sent to the customer in a format which is both neat, professional and which promotes the Glenair ethos of “Total Capability”.
  • Details of all enquiries, project details, sales leads and market information are provided to the Field Sales Team in a timely and concise manner.

Job Requirements:

Person specification

  • Interpersonal skills are important in both verbal and written form
  • Computer literate – preferably in Microsoft Office software, especially Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Proven track record of experience within a costing and sales organisation
  • Electrical or Engineering background
  • Office/Administration experience
  • English & Maths O Level/GCSE or Equivalent
