Hermetic Connectors

Hermetic connectors are a special class of Mil /Aero interconnect that incorporates glass-to-metal or other highly-engineered sealing technology. Hermetic connectors are specified for applications as divergent as submarines and orbiting satellites.

Wire and Cable

Crimp Tools

Glenair have been supporting the Mil/Aero, Defence, Medical, Marine, Rail, Motorsport and Telecommunications Industry for over 30 years, with high quality connector tooling products from our facility in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.

Our range covers all MIL-C-22520 qualified products including Indent and Open Frame tooling, pneumatic and hand operated, along with MIL-I-81969 insertion and removal tools.

Hydraulic Crimp Tools

Glenair offer direct equivalents to the hand, bench and battery operated crimp tools for Indent and Open Frame Applications. All tools, with exception of the HX23, can be operated by finger or with optional foot pedal (HX23 comes with foot pedal and bench mount as standard). Bench mounts are available. All tools utilise the standard hand tool die or positioner/turret head

Safe-T-Cable

The Safe-T-Cable® system is comprised of various lengths of high tensile, pre-twisted, stainless steel cable with a fitting at on end, and a ferrule, which may be terminated at any point along the length of the cable. The precision installation tool and its accessories allow the user to verify the calibration, and easily install the Safe-T-Cable® in any location in which it is required.

Tooling Repair

Glenair UK Ltd is the sole authorised UK distributor for the Daniels Manufacturing Corporation (DMC) range of connector tooling and provides their Authorised DMC Repair Facility in the United Kingdom. We offer complete tool repair and recertification for the range of connector tooling including:

Cable Assembly Solutions

Glenair has been a go-to cable house for high-performance interconnect cable assemblies for more than 50 years. We specialise in delivering terminated, tested cable harnesses and assemblies with 100% reliability and quality control. We offer complete, bespoke cable assembly services from design engineering to fabrication and test.

Flex Assembly Solutions

Flex Circuit Assemblies are an alternative to standard wire in electrical interconnect systems. Designed to reduce size and weight, flex circuits utilise thin layers of polymer film as a dielectric sandwiched between conductive circuit patterns etched into layers of copper foil cladding.

Pure Air Solutions

In the Glenair Pure-Air facility, we manufacture parts for IR Guided Weapons and Weapons Ejection systems which use High Pressure, Pure-Air, Dry Air, Argon or Nitrogen. We can also Pressure Test components to very high pressures, in excess of 16,000 psig, and more importantly, purge and compatibility test products to DEF STAN 58/96, recognised worldwide within the defence industry.

Twist-Strip™

Stripping multi-conductor wire cable is often done by hand with a razor blade. This is a dangerous and difficult way to remove the jacket from any type of electrical cable. The DMC Twist-Strip™ products have adjustable blades that allow the tool to accommodate variances in the cable. The repeatable function of the tool reduces operator error and is up to 3 to 5 times faster than conventional methods.

Glass-to-Metal Seal Hermetic Connectors

Hermetic connectors are a special class of sealed Mil /Aero interconnect that incorporates glass-to-metal or other highly engineered sealing technology. Hermetic seal connectors are specified for applications as divergent as submarines and orbiting satellites. They are deployed to resist moisture ingress in underground applications and to withstand pressure differentials in vacuum chambers, laboratory equipment and commercial and military aircraft.

CODE RED™ is an innovative sealing encapsulant and application process — invented by Glenair — that provides durable hermetic sealing in a lightweight aluminium package. CODE RED™ allows for the use of conventional gold-plated copper alloy contacts, significantly improving electrical performance.
